Getting enough sleep & it’s benefits

Humans are conditioned to function at peak performance for certain hours in a day. Just like your gadgets and electronic devices need to be charged frequently for optimal use, human bodies also need to recharge themselves to gain energy and eliminate exhaustion.

Our natural mode of healing and recuperation is sleep, and getting enough sleep is extremely beneficial for us. Humans need to sleep between 6-8 hours a day on average to perform at their peak levels. While a 6 hour sleep may not always be sufficient to rejuvenate your body, it would certainly keep your mind fresh.

Similarly, sleeping for 8 hours a day would significantly boost your mood and energy levels, and keep you going for the rest of the day. When we sleep, our body increases our metabolic activity to breakdown fat and convert it into energy. The active metabolic state during sleep helps us regulate our body fat and maintain a constant supply of energy to our vital organs.

However, once you lower the amount of sleep, the fatigue starts building up, making it harder to concentrate on work, studies, and may even deteriorate your physical condition. Therefore, getting enough sleep is vital for optimal human function.
